Recently saw this over at Engadget:
So I read the article, which was nice. Watched the video clip on YouTube. And my thoughts are – doesn’t it sound & look a lot like Jolicloud? The embedded items to “save” a program. HTML5 as its standard. Ability to play Flash (ipad). Could this be an OEM partnership that we’ve heard about before.
The tablet looks like a cool concept, I’m still against a virtual keyboard for long duration typing – but that’s just me.
Anyone else see the resemblance?

Ubuntu has revealed a new “light” version of Ubuntu for Netbooks. This new version has a much smaller footprint of real estate because of netbook’s smaller screen resolutions. The icons have been really shrunk down for the left side, and menus are almost completely gone from view to maximize the current window.

This will also be the basis for the upcoming Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Remix, nicknamed “Maverick Meerkat”
Jolicloud could see some more competition, as well as Ubuntu’s OEM force which has a much larger foundation.
