Jolicloud has issued a software update that will allow you to use your keyboard to navigate through the pages of your HTML 5 launcher.

When you are in your launcher and want to move to the next page:

Ctrl + Left   (arrow)
or
Ctrl + Right  (arrow)

To select an App to run, just hit Enter

Just that easy… log into your Jolicloud account, get the updates, restart and she’s all yours!

Jolicloud Top Users – Follow Me!

Just as some other social networking sites allow you to rank users by “friends” Jolicloud allows you to rank users by “Followers”

This new feature allows you to see the top 30 users – based on number of followers (3 pages of 10 users on each page). Sadly, I just barely didn’t make the list :( .

Jolicloud 1.0 Live Edition

Going to be near a computer, but not your netbook?   Want to still use Jolicloud?   There is a way to get your Jolicloud experience when you’re not with your own netbook.

Get a 1GB+ USB jump drive, and put the Jolicloud 1.0 iso on it.

Boot off of the jump drive on your computer at select the”Try Jolicloud without making changes to your computer” option.

Once Jolicloud has booted, you can still log into your My Jolicloud account.

I recently used this and it was fantastic!   You can use this with Mac, Windows, a different Linux, any PC.  On a hackintosh I didn’t have the divx codec installed and knew Jolicloud would be able to play it right out of the box.  I was unable to get into my Private folder, but the rest of the drive worked great.

Any other unique ways you use Jolicloud?

My Update Issues – Fixed

I think I’ve fixed the update problem that I was having from before. Maybe because I was so early on the Jolicloud 1.0 releases, I must have got a beta version of Chrome that was preventing my Update-Manager from properly completing updates.

To remedy this, I opened up a terminal and used:
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Upon a restart, I was able to run the Updates from the main launcher screen.

Hopefully you didn’t have any problems with your Update-Manager, but if you did, that’s how you fix it!

Update 1:
Yep, that worked on many levels. Programs are saving their install points & I’m not having to install on every restart/log-in. The only other item is adding Legacy Apps to the HTML5 Launcher, and I’m set :) .
