I’ve used Jolicloud 1.1 for a few days now and like what I’ve seen so far:
Pros:
- Easy Install (as always)
- Nice splash on startup/shutdown
- Quick boot
- My Apps all there on a fresh install & update
Cons:
- My network connection keeps dropping – not sure if it’s my location or what
- Install took about 1/2 hour. Sat at 89% for quite some time
- My Chrome icon doesn’t work anymore, just Chromium
- HTML5 Video Launch broken too
Again, only a few days, and this is what I’ve seen during the install & use of Jolicloud 1.1 on a stock Dell Mini 9.
Overall, I’m happy with my Jolicloud 1.1 experience. YouTube clips are watchable, even the Hulu app on Low video is enough to watch a show on. I wish I could add Rhythmbox to the launcher, I have to go through 1 more click than I’d like.
Also, I like that I can rearrange the launcher items, but sometimes it takes a while to move from screen three to one – maybe some area where I can have them all on one screen to organize. Also, could I label some for Internet, or Social, Music, etc. that would be cool too.
Don’t forgot to follow me within Jolicloud – ‘Jeff Jolionmini.com’ Just search for JoliOnMini and it’ll bring me up – love checking out others recently added apps to see if there’s anything I’d like too.

I re-did my Dell Mini 9 and put a fresh copy of Jolicloud 1.1 on it. Others have tried the upgrade path provided by Jolicloud. Many of those have had issues.
Have you had issues with your upgrade to 1.1? Post comments or use our Forums – we can try to help too.
We had some issues before with Jolicloud packages not updating properly. Use of the command line usually helps. We also talked about a few fixes before, check this out, see if it helps!

The Official Jolicloud Blog describes in detail how to do the upgrade!
Update:
Since GMA 500 support is not completed, I would recommend holding off on your upgrade if you have a Dell Mini 12
Should be done shortly…

The official Jolicloud based netbook – The Jolibook is about to get official. Word is that Thursday the folks at Jolicloud will release the remain specs & the official starting price. Rumored to only be available in the UK to begin, the hopefully world-wide shortly after.
The known specs:
- Atom N550 (Dual Core)
- 250 GB Hard Drive
- Jolicloud 1.1 with Chrome, Facebook, Spotify, Skype, and more installed by default
We’ve heard it will definitely be able to handle HD video, so that should mean a pretty beefy graphics card, and I’m guessing 10″ minimum screen size.
Again, more to come soon…
