My Update Issues – Fixed

I think I’ve fixed the update problem that I was having from before. Maybe because I was so early on the Jolicloud 1.0 releases, I must have got a beta version of Chrome that was preventing my Update-Manager from properly completing updates.

To remedy this, I opened up a terminal and used:
sudo dpkg --configure -a

Upon a restart, I was able to run the Updates from the main launcher screen.

Hopefully you didn’t have any problems with your Update-Manager, but if you did, that’s how you fix it!

Update 1:
Yep, that worked on many levels. Programs are saving their install points & I’m not having to install on every restart/log-in. The only other item is adding Legacy Apps to the HTML5 Launcher, and I’m set :) .

Do you have updating issues with Jolicloud?

On mine, I get to go to updating, and it sits forever, then errors out – I can retry, which goes through the same process.

Jolicloud has issued a patch for this problem.   Go through the following:

Open up My Jolicloud, go to the Updates tab:

Click on the link and select save:

Once you save the file you need to located it in your Downloads folder.

To locate your downloads folder, go back to the Jolicloud launch menu, click on any folder on the right.

Once in a folder, click on your profile name in the top of the left menu.  Then click on Downloads.  I found mine in Jeff/Downloads:Open up the file and package manager will begin the install.   If it warns the same one is available in the software channel, that’s ok.   Click on Install Package in the top right:

You may have to give your password to begin.   Once that has been completed, run your Update manager again.  I had a few updates that were required after.   Now, I’m up to date!
